Location: Penang, Malaysia
Although we already signed a package for pre-wedding photo shooting at Taiwan, but a few months before we went to Taiwan for the photo shoot, we realized that the package did not include wedding gowns and night gowns for actual day, as we signed the package back in 2010 when we are lack of knowledge on what are actually needed. So we started to survey around if we are able to rent wedding gowns. Unfortunately, our survey result showing us that renting wedding gowns are so expensive and do not worth the money, better to just sign another package to cover the wedding actual day needs.
(Note: Later we are informed that Taiwan's bridal house do provide actual day wedding gown, but with condition that we have to top up photos of quite a large amount of money.)
After surveying for a few bridal shops, we finally decided to sign up with DeSantia Bridal House, mainly because:
- the wedding package they provide meets our budget expectation, as we do not plan to sign up another expensive package considering we already have one at Taiwan
- the service is good, even though we are only signing up an economy wedding package (In fact we do have bad experience with the coordinator of certain bridal shop where she talking rudely to us when we told her that we are only interested in a low priced wedding package, this is not happening in DeSantia.)
- the quality of the photos meets our expectation, and we are able to choose the photographer and make up artist that we prefer.
We choose the gowns for pre-wedding photo shoot few weeks before. And on 21st of April 2012, we had our photo shoot. The pre-wedding photo shoot experience that we have in Penang is completely different from Taiwan. The weather was cold in Taiwan as we went there during Spring, but for the weather in Penang, Malaysia, it is hot all the time! Luckily that we are having our photo shoot mostly indoor, where we can still enjoy the "air-con".
We only has one gown for outdoor shooting, and the location we choose was Botanical Garden, Penang. One of the reasons we choose Botanical Garden is because it is only a short distance from the bridal shop. Another reason is that we prefer greenery scene. Wow! The weather was so hot that we keep on sweating during the outdoor photo shooting. We can't help ourselves to wish we can finish these as soon as possible :P
The whole photo shooting took us from 10.00am to 6.00pm, with lunch provided by the bridal shop :D When the photo shooting's done, it's almost dinner time. We were so tired and exhausted. As Penang is a place we familiar with, and being popular as a "food paradise", of course we got to enjoy some "ho liao" (in Hokkien, meaning great food) before we went back to our home!
