How to choose a suitable pre-wedding photoshoot package

We believe that this is a problem faced by almost every new couple in Malaysia. In fact, this was also a problem that we were facing when we first approach bridal shops to check on the wedding package, and there are so many options out there! So which package should we choose?

We are lucky enough to have experienced friends and relatives to give us some heads-up. And we realized that it is very important to sign up a really suitable wedding package at the first place, mainly to avoid any unhappy experiences (such as bad service, unnecessary additional charges, bad pre-wedding photos and so on).

Here are few items that we suggest to take into consideration when choosing a wedding package.

1. Photographer(PG) and makeup artist (MUA)
You may want to view the works of the photographers if you really concern on the outcome of your pre-wedding photos. Usually their works can be viewed in the display albums and ask the sales girl of the photographer name if you find his/her works can meet your expectation.  Similarly, the works of makeup artist can be found in the display album. You may ask for dedicated photographers and MUA. Do check with the coordinator on the photographers and makeup artist’s timetables so that they are available for your pre-wedding photo shoot.

2. Pre-wedding photoshoot package price and offer
Always check the list of offer in the wedding package, make sure they have cover all the items you need. You may also need to bargain for lower price or more items. Please refers “Checklist for Wedding Package“ and “How to bargain for a wedding package“ for more discussion in this area.

3. Service provided
It is important to have a quality service so that you are getting a good experience at the bridal shop. The coordinator should be someone that can understand your needs and give suggestion accordingly. You may check with your friends and relatives, or even “google” for others’ experiences. One suggestion is try to avoid coordinator that is too pushy,  or continuously promote more expensive package.

4. Gowns and suits
If you have your desired gowns or suits designs for your wedding, do communicate and check with the coordinator to see if it is available. You may pay a visit to the bridal shop and request to have a look on their collection of gowns and suits before signing up a package.

5. Location of the bridal shop
As you will need to pay multiple visits to the bridal shop for gowns selection, pre-wedding photos shoot, photo selection, collection of framed portrait and albums, and so on, it is good to get your wedding package from a bridal shop not too far away from your resident area. This will allow conveniences in communication as well as avoid long time taken in order to travel to the shop.

As different people have different requirements and needs to their own wedding package, we do suggest you to rearrange the list in your own order, with the criteria stressed the most at the top; and then rate accordingly. This will be helpful for you to make decision on which package to choose.
